Guess what I'm sharing a recipe today!
Yes!
It's one of my favorite seafood dishes, Calamari! It was about 8 years ago that I first tried calamari in the US at a casual restaurant. Calamari that I ate there was spectacular and I still rememeber how it tastes like and the texture.
Since I went vegan, I've been wanting to veganize calamari for a long time, and then I found an amazing plant food to imitate squid.

Hearts of Palm.

When you open the can of hearts of palm, you will see 4-5 sticks in vinegarette water. Take them out of the can, then push the center part and pull so it comes off.
To make calamari, use the outer part of palm.

Cut into approx. 5mm.

Mmmmmm
Yum!
Now it looks like real calamari, doesn't it?!
Dip it in homemade vegan spicy mayo! That elevates the deliciousness to the next level ;)

For vegan spicy mayo, you need:

  • Vegan mayo
  • Paprika powder
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Himalayan pink salt
  • Black pepper

It's simple and easy. Just whisk together and adjust the taste to your liking.
Although I used cayenne pepper and paprika powder, you can also substitue them with sriracha if you have. That would be fantastic as well!
For vegan mayo, I've posted the recipe a while ago. Please visit the link below for the recipe details.
