Mmmmm This smoothie is super delicious and rich in nutrients! I've been in love with this smoothie for a long time ;)
Suitable for:

  • Breakfast
  • Snack when hungry
  • Pre- Post-workout
  • Meal replacement

This recipe is made of:

  • Cacao powder
  • Ripe Bananas
  • Cashew milk
  • Vegan protein powder
  • Hemp seeds
  • Coconut flakes

This is a basic smoothie recipe, so you can actually add in anything you want or remove some food that you don't like :) 

Cacao powder is high in antioxidant, magnesium, calcium, iron, fiber and healthy fats. Thus, it has health benefits for maintaining our healthy body, such as boosting your energy, imporoving your mood and anti-aging effects, to name a few. Hemp seeds are incredibly nutritious that contain high amount of protein, omega 3, fiber, vitamin E, B vitmains, zinc and magnesium! Some studies indicate that consumption of hemp seeds may help reduce risks of heart diseases, protect brain damage like Alzheimer's Disease, and reduce inflammation which could help manage chronic diseases, such as diabetes, arthritis and heart disease.

What I usually do with hemp seeds is to add into the smoothie like this recipe and to sprinkle some hemp seeds over avocado toast, banana nut butter toast, salad for sure, and so on!

If you want this smoothie to be a meal replacement, add vegan protein powder so that you can get enough protein for work out or the rest of day. When you buy vegan protein powder, look closely at ingredients, and choose the one which dones't or less contains artificial and/or natural flavors and chemical ingredients. Typically protein powder with flavors contian these ingredients. So if you want to avoid, get the unflavored or unsweetened protein powder instead!

Vegan Nutrient-Dense Chocolate Banana Smoothie
INGREDIENTS (2 Servings)
2 rip bananas
2 tablespoons cacao powder
2 1/2 cups cashew milk
2 teaspoons or more hemp seeds
Protein powder (follow your protein powder instruction)
1 tablespoon coconut flakes

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Put all ingredients in a high speed blender.
  2. Process until smooth.

NOTES
◎Cashew milk can be substituted with other plant-based milk.
